Dedicated to the memory of Sara

This site is a tribute to Sara.

Sara was born in Wolverhampton on 7th July 1982 to parents David and Ann. Sara was an only child and grew up in their family home in Perton and went to Sandown First school and Perton Middle School. It was at Sandown First School, she met her life-long friend Alex, who remained an important part of her life until the very end.

Sara had a happy and active childhood  taking up dancing lessons from the age of four through to her early teens performing in stage shows organised by her dancing teacher. She learned to play the clarinet & piano, attaining high grades in both. She joined the Brownies then later the Girl Guides. All of these activities she applied herself to diligently.

Sara then moved on to Stafford College. After college she studied Law at Keele University and then completed her Legal Practice Course at Nottingham University.

In 2010 Sara started work for FBC Manby Bowdler as a paralegal. During her time with the firm Sara made many friends having worked in Bridgnorth, Telford, Shrewsbury and Wolverhampton offices.

In the autumn of 2018 Sara was diagnosed with cervical cancer and approached her diagnosis and treatment in the same way that she approached everything, with positivity and determination. Undoubtedly Sara had many moments throughout the course of her illness where she worried about the future and what the next round of results would bring. However, she was always so brave and did her best to be positive - in no small part just so that those who cared for her wouldn’t worry, cause a fuss or even worse, give her sympathy.

Sara was always independent and would always try to be self-sufficient, even when she was so ill.  She lived in her own house with her gerbils Bert and Ernie until the end of May, where Sara eventually relented and moved back in with her parents.

Although there were some very difficult moments during Sara's illness, she tried everything she could to beat it. She underwent various treatments throughout 2019 and took part in cervical cancer trials in early 2020 and she always had hope that her treatment would work. Unfortunately, Sara’s health went downhill quite rapidly towards the end of May and during the early hours of June the 18th Sara lost her battle and passed away peacefully in her sleep, with her parents at her bedside. She leaves behind her two beloved gerbils, Bert and Ernie; her devoted parents and loving friends.

Sara brought light, love and colour into the lives of all who were close to her and she will be missed by us all. We hope this page will bring comfort to those who knew Sara and serves as a place where people can leave comments, add photos and share memories.

In Sara’s memory we have chosen the Shropshire Cat Rescue and the West Midlands Ambulance Service and as the charities that we will be making a collection for. We have chosen the Shropshire Cat Rescue as because Sara loved animals - and in particular cats (Sara would have loved to have had a cat, but sadly her allergies meant that it wasn’t possible). Throughout Sara’s illness the West Midlands Ambulance Service were there for her on numerous occasions and always managed to lighten the mood despite the situation and we want to show our appreciation for their help and support they showed towards her.

Sara is much loved and will always be remembered.
